It takes a lot to make me speechless

Posted in Photography on July 10, 2010 by stephenjamesprice

I shot a wedding tonight and about halfway through the reception I took a quick restroom break. I was pulling the door open from the outside at the same time an elderly gentleman (approx. early seventies) was pushing it open from the inside. He stumbled forward a little. As he righted himself, he spotted the large camera hanging from my neck.

“You didn’t want a picture of that did you?” he asked.

I told him that I did not.

“Good,” he replied. “You don’t have a big enough lens.”

I struggled for the appropriate comeback as the door shut in my face. I could hear him laughing from the other side. I never did think of anything to say.

The Witch in the Volcano

Vacation Photo

This is another picture of the witch that followed my wife and I around Hawaii. We sat in the rain for an hour watching the volcano erupt and the witch kept appearing in the steam.

Witch in the Volcano

This is an original photo and has not been retouched in any way.

We saw the witch in a cloud bank, in the steam from the volcano, in the water and as a shadow in a parking lot when I didn’t have a camera. It was very strange. We haven’t seen her since we returned to the mainland.

The Witch in The Water

Vacation Photo

This picture was taken from the balcony of our hotel room on the big island of Hawaii. Can you see the witches face in the water?

Witch in the Water

This is an original photo and has not been retouched in any way. I saw it first and ran inside to get my camera and my wife (in that order).

After a few pictures and a few more waves, the face disappeared.

The witch followed us around the island. I’ll post another picture of her in the smoke from the erupting volcano in a few days.
